Hood River New School, a sixth through eighth grade independent day school, currently serves 59 students from diverse backgrounds living in Oregon and Washington. Our mission is to empower middle school students with the skills they need to become resourceful learners, preparing them to take on future challenges. In a responsive and caring environment, students mature into confident, compassionate citizens inspired to meaningfully contribute to their community. Are you passionate about supporting middle schoolers in a dynamic, non-traditional environment? Hood River New School is looking for an Assistant Study Hall Supervisor who thrives outside the conventional classroom box.
This isn't a standard teaching position—it’s an opportunity to facilitate a productive workspace for 6th–8th grade students, helping them manage their time and projects within our unique interdisciplinary curriculum. Key Responsibilities
Student Supervision: Maintain a focused, safe, and productive environment for students during study hall periods.
Mentorship: Build authentic, positive relationships with students to support their social and academic growth.
Academic Support: Assist students in navigating their interdisciplinary projects and managing their homework assignments.

Middle School Advocates: A genuine interest in working with 6th–8th graders and an understanding of their unique developmental stage.
Flexible Mindset: A high tolerance for—and excitement about—non-traditional, fluid learning environments.

Employment Type: Part-time
Hours: Friday 8:45 am - 12:00 pm; January 9, 2026 - May 29, 2026
Compensation: $31.85/hr
